Like most of you, I grew up with mangas and video games. They nourished my visual culture and library of references. I consider myself a huge dork and geek.
Nobody is born a professional at their industry-everyone who wants to be exceptional at something has to work hard at it, both through practical work experience and education.
That is why I graduated in art and was an art teacher for a while. I also happened to have studied IT and took a liking for illustration.
